Commentary:
Some people reading this will be very quick to blame the driver of the vehicle, but they would be jumping to conclusions based off a news article that is based of a police report that was written by a policeman that did not witness the accident, only the cleanup and aftermath. This is why most of the police reports from accidents are called into question upon further scrutiny. I’ve seen cases where the information was incomplete to the point of near-nonexistence, or worse yet, completely and factually inaccurate. This is where independent investigation comes in handy. It can add to the current pile of evidence, that could complete or altogether refute the information in a police report.
