Commentary:
Whenever an accident like this happens, people may wonder what happens when an insurance policy does not cover the total costs of an accident, like when a car happens to total a city bus, or destroys a storefront. In this case, gap insurance, or under-insured motorist coverage would step in and bridge the difference between the motorists’ insurance policy, and the cost of the damages.
If the accident reveals that the shuttle bus was at fault, the company responsible for its maintenance and the driver could bear some of the liability. Like I said, I did not witness this accident personally, but hopefully this information helped anybody with the misfortune of being involved in an accident like this one.
