Commentary
News reports on this one are a little vague as to how the accident happened. The way it’s described, I can see it playing out in one of two ways. Either the truck driver thought he had more time to cross the road than he actually did, or the woman in the car thought the same. Police are investigating the accident, but the sheer volume of accidents like this that come into there office means that unfortunately these things are often given short shrift. In similar cases I’ve been involved with in the past, private investigations have always been much more successful at helping victims and their families figure out what happened, and do it in a reasonable time frame.
