San Manuel, TX — Police have arrested a man presumably involved in an alleged DUI accident that took place just north of San Manuel, Texas, on January 31.
Evelyn Jimenez was driving on Expressway 281 outside of San Manuel when she drove off the road and rolled her vehicle. After the accident she was taken to McAllen Medical Center where she died from her injuries the next day.
Also in the car at the time was Manuel Jimenez, who was only injured in the accident. Jimenez was arrested last week and charged with intoxicated manslaughter.

Commentary
This is an interesting case, because the man who was arrested wasn’t driving the car at the time of the accident. Police have said what they’re charging him with, but haven’t elaborated on how he was involved in the victim’s death. There are some really important pieces of information missing from this case before we’re able to make any sort of final call on the matter.
As I see it now, there are a couple of possibilities. One is that the news reports have just gotten things wrong. The second is that the passenger in the vehicle someone interfered with the victim’s driving. In any case, we still need more information.
