Janesville, WI — Police are looking for an SUV they believe is responsible for a hit-and-run that took place near Janesville, Wisconsin. Authorities have said that an Infiniti QX4 was responsible for an accident involving two motorcycles. The Infiniti had crossed the center line, striking to motorcycle riders. Three others, also on motorcycles, were able to avoid the collision.
The accident took place on Highway 14, near East Old Humes Rd.
Mitchell Vance and Devin Julius were the two motorcyclists hit. Vance was killed on impact, while Julius was taken to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, where he passed away.
Authorities say the Infiniti is either a 2001, 2002, or 2003, and either black or blue. The SUV would likely have damage to the front driver and passenger sides. Anyone with information is being asked to contact local authorities.

Commentary
It’s very possible that the driver of the Infiniti had a fight or flight moment just after the collision and that’s why they drove away. That’s never an acceptable excuse for leaving the scene of an accident, but it does happen to people. More often, though, the driver knows that they’ve just done something horrible and want to get away from it. They don’t want others to see what they’ve done. It’s possible that something else happened here, but the much more likely scenario is that the evidence is speaking for itself.
