Commentary:
Many people would look at the news article and be too quick to blame the driver because they turned in front of the other car, when in reality, if the driver of the other vehicle was speeding at the time of the accident, the victim may not be at fault. I personally know several police officers that cannot for the life of them accurately gauge the speed of a vehicle when it is traveling in your direction. If the victim was making a turn across traffic, and the driver of the other car was going to fast, the victim may have believed there was enough room and time to make the turn, when in fact there was not. These kinds of accidents happen every day, and the unfortunate truth is, the victim is usually the one who is stuck with the fault.
