Van Horne, IA — Two people were killed in a collision with an agricultural sprayer that took place last Friday, around seven in the evening. The accident occurred on 70th Street, just west of Van Horne, Iowa.
According to reports, Paul Hofmeyer and Stacy Thompson were traveling along 70th Street when they crossed over into oncoming traffic and collided with the sprayer. Hofmeyer and Thompson were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sprayer, Jeffrey Selk, was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids for his injuries. He’s expected to be okay.
No word yet on what might have caused Hofmeyer to cross over to the other side of the road. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
