Commentary:
In all my years of handling commercial vehicle accidents, I have never seen a truck flip and roll onto one side that was driving at a speed that was safe for conditions, or that did not have some kind of serious mechanical fault. Trucks and commercial vehicles are built from the same systems on regular cars that can break down over time. This is only compounded by the natural stresses that commercial vehicles are exposed to in their lifetimes. I would be very interested in seeing the trucks repair history to find out when the steering, brakes and tires were all maintenanced last. If the trucking company has let this vehicle fall into disrepair, they may be held liable for the accident if the truck is found to have experienced a malfunction.
