ROANOKE, VA — A cyclist has died after an accident involving an alleged drunk driver in Roanoke, Virginia on Monday, March 31st, 2014, according to the report from WDBJ7.
Investigators have said that they believe 59-year-old Earl Wright was killed when he was hit by a car while riding his bike along or across the 3000 block of Franklin Road. The accident happened just before 10:00 pm on Monday.

It is not clear if they were killed instantly in the accident or if they were taken by EMS responders to a nearby hospital where he died after his arrival.
The driver of the offending vehicle was identified in the report as 33-year-old Rikki Reynolds, who currently faces several alcohol related charges in connection with the accident.
The investigation into the accident is currently underway.
