UPDATE: The Smith County Deputys named was listed as 23-year old Joseph Jordan who was transporting 32-year old Alvin Odom and 33-year old Shannon Wallace two inmates. The vehicle that struck the patrol car was driven by 27-year old Luis Chavez-Ibarra.
According to news reports a Smith County deputy along with two inmates was injured when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle. Allegedly the deputy was transporting the two trustees when another driver failed to yield to the patrol car and attempted to make a left turn in front of him.

The local authorities stated that the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening but that all three people in patrol were taken to a hospital for their injuries. They are expected to look into the accident and have not released a statement about who was responsible for the accident.
