Gary, IN – A 5-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck by a car in downtown Gary on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015.
A girl was playing in the 500 block of West Fifth Avenue and allegedly ran into traffic just before the crash.
The driver of the vehicle stopped and was cooperating with police.
The unnamed girl is reported to be in critical condition. She was taken to Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus.
The crash remains under investigation. There’s been no mention of distracted driving in connection with this incident.
