Harrison Township — A passenger in a car that was driving along I-94 in Harrison Township was killed after an accident last Friday night. His name was Eddie Griffin III and police think that the driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol.
Griffin was riding in the car as a passenger while a 27-year old man from Clinton Township was driving west along I-94. This was at about 11:30 last Friday night, February 6, 2015.
Police said that the driver of the car lost control near Shook Road and swerved off the interstate. The car then lost traction and flipped over multiple times, stopping the middle of the westbound lanes. Speed was allegedly a factor, according to witnesses.
The accident killed Eddie Griffin immediately while the 27-year old man behind the wheel had to be taken to a hospital in McLaren. Later, police said that they though alcohol was a factor, though no charges have been filed yet.
