LAKE COUNTY, IN — Emma Hartman was pronounced dead after an accident with a tractor-trailer in Lake County, Indiana on Tuesday, December 30th, 2014. The article from Fox 59 said that the accident happened at or about 11:13 Tuesday morning.
18-year-old Emma Hartman was killed when the Jeep Liberty she was driving and a tractor-trailer collided head-on in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80/90. Authorities believe that the Jeep SUV crossed unexpectedly into the lanes of oncoming traffic when it collided head-on with the westbound tractor-trailer.
Hartman was pronounced dead after the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was identified as 66-year-old Joseph Kelly, who was immediately unhurt in the accident.
Indiana State Police are helping with the accident investigation at this time.
