Timberlake, VA — This week, a man was killed in Timberlake after a serious collision between his motorcycle and a pickup truck. This happened at about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, December 14, 2014 and the man who died was identified as Michael Childress, 52 years old.
Police didn’t really give a lot of information in their reports, but it looks like Childress’ motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of Leesville Road and Sunburst Road.
Childress had been riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Sunburst when he was hit by a GMC pickup truck at the interaction that had been driving along Leesville. There was no mention of who was at fault or whether one of them failed to yield.
The accident killed Childress immediately and left the GMC truck driver with less-serious injuries, though that person’s name wasn’t released.
