Morton, WA — A woman died in an accident in Morton, Washington, on Saturday, November 29, 2014. The accident took place on Harding Road, at the intersection of the Washington Blacktop, around 5:15 in the afternoon.
According to reports, Cari Silver ran a stop sign while heading west on Harding and hit a car being driven by Linda Klein, who was southbound on the Washington Blacktop. David Shea was a passenger inside Klein’s car. Both of them were taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Klein was pronounced dead a short time later. Shea was treated and released from the hospital the next day.
Silver and three others inside her vehicle were taken to the same hospital where they were treated and released.
Silver has been cited by police for failing to obey a traffic sign and driving too fast for the conditions on the road.
Scene of the Accident
In a case like this, liability for an accident is pretty obvious. However, no one involved in an accident like this can ever rely on an insurance company to resolve things in a timely — or satisfactory — manner. If the damages pass a certain threshold, the insurance company is always going to put up a fight, or be generally disagreeable. It’s important to remember that insurance carriers are required to defend their clients, and so pushback should be expected.
