Vinod George Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on Trapelo Road in Waltham, MA

Waltham, MA — Police say a semi-truck that dumped a load of concrete beams onto the road in Waltham, Massachusetts, will be cited for carrying an unsecure load.

On Thursday, October 23, 2014, Vinod George was driving down Trapelo road when a semi-truck coming off of Interstate 95 began to lose a load on heavy concrete breams it was carrying. George was able to hit his brakes and bring his Honda SUV. He escaped the accident with only minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported in conjunction with the accident. Police are continuing to investigate.

Scene of the Accident

In an accident like this,  you’re never going to have to look very far to see who’s going to be held liable. Making sure that the big, heavy, dangerous concrete beams you’re carrying to securely tied down and not going anywhere seems like a no-brainer. The only thing that may have an effect on that is who was actually responsible for loading the truck. If the driver had anything to do with it, then he and the trucking company he works for are going to be responsible. If a third party was responsible for loading the truck, which is a definite possibility, then they may find themselves liable for what happened. A little more investigating will be needed before we can know for sure.

I'm a former employee. I had brought up this exact scenario and suggested a maintenance procedure that would eliminate the possibility of this type injury. Obviously my warning went unheeded.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

A lot of people say smack about lawyers, but I want to say that I'm glad there is a way that people who are wronged by corporate neglect can get justice and force change. We are living in a world where corporations and govt care less than ever about common people, and I support your work. I hope I will never need your services.

Thank you for posting these accident articles on your site. At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
