Clarks, NE — According to a report coming out of Nebraska, a woman was killed after her vehicle was hit by a semi-truck on Highway 30, just a mile west of Clarks, Nebraska. Police have identified the woman as Heather Stroud.
The collision pushed Stroud’s vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic, where it was hit by a Toyota Camry. Stroud was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Camry sustained minor injuries.

Commentary
So here we have an accident in which a semi-truck rear-ended another vehicle on the highway. There are two things we need to keep in mind here: Accidents are going to be much easier to avoid if one, you’re traveling at a safe distance from the car ahead of you, and two, you’re traveling at a safe speed. It seems as if the driver of the semi-truck, at least in this instance, was doing neither. That itself begs the question, if the driver wasn’t doing those things, what was he doing? Because it doesn’t seem like he was paying any attention to the road. Whatever the answer turns out to be, the trucking company owes the victim’s family answers.
