Commentary:
I am working with very, very little information in this particular case, but the fact that the victim was turning when the accident happened could tell us a few things. Either the victim made an error, which is always possible, or the truck could have been speeding before the crash. What tells me this? We have all been turning across traffic at some point or another, and when we complete the turn, we see we have narrowly been missed by a vehicle that we thought was very far away. The reason for this? It is exceedingly difficult to estimate the speed of a vehicle when it is driving toward you. If the trucker was speeding, and the victim tried to turn, they may have thought there was ample time and space to complete the turn.
