SAN MARCOS, TX — One man was killed in a crash in San Marcos, Texas on Sunday, May 11th, 2014, according to a news article from KXAN.
Officials have said that they believe Charles Knowles was killed when the motorcycle he was driving skidded off the road and crashed while driving on Interstate 35 around 3:00 Sunday morning.

Charles Knowles was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency responders when they arrived.
Representatives from the San Marcos Police Department are still investigating the crash.
Commentary:
While it is mentioned nowhere in the article, the time of the accident and the fact pattern lead me to believe that alcohol may have been a factor in this crash. If the police discover that alcohol was a factor in the crash, finding out where the driver was drinking before the accident should be the next order of business. This is important because it could alter the liability landscape in this case considerably. If the victim was drinking at a bar before the accident, the bar could have served him alcohol despite his obvious intoxication, which constitutes as negligent provision of alcohol, and the bar can be held liable for the crash if this has found to have taken place.
