UPDATE: Jackie Jobe Killed in Car Accident on Trenton Road in Edinburg, Texas


EDINBURG, TX — One person was killed in a serious three vehicle crash that happened in Edinburg, Texas on Wednesday, March 26th, 2014, according to a report from Valley Central.

Police have said that they have reason to believe Jackie Jobe was killed when the vehicle he was driving swerved into the lanes of oncoming traffic and collided with a black SUV while driving on Trenton Road. The accident was reported to local authorities around 8:30 in the morning.

Jackie Jobe was killed in the accident, although it is immediately unclear if they were killed instantly in the accident or if they were possibly taken by EMS personnel to a nearby hospital where an update on his condition was not made available by hospital staff.

Authorities from the Texas Department of Transportation is currently handling the crash investigation.

I was actually a couple cars back from this wreck, one of the first on the scene, and helped administer CPR on the victims. The truck driver was going way too fast, but it was actually his trailer that swung around and hit the suv, the semi-truck ended in the median.

At the company that I work for, e deal with monitoring construction activity and work around trenches and all sorts of construction equipment/vehicles. I sometimes wonder if construction companies have enough safety training to inform employees of how to protect themselves while on the job.
