According to the manufacturer Kia is set to recall roughly 73000 Kia Rio vehicles due to a potentially faulty airbag sensor on the passenger side. The vehicles affected are from model years 2006 to 2008 and are susceptible to cracking from fatigue. With this potential fault the unit may not be able to detect a child in the seat thus unable to change the deployment settings.

Ive mentioned in other blogs that manufacturers will note they are voluntarily recalling something on a member of their fleet. When the recall has anything to do with safety voluntary becomes mandatory according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Id like to point out that while the recall covers vehicles with model years 2006-2008 the cars in question were actually built between February 2005 and December 2007.

Local news reports in Lubbock TX said that 28-year old Kathy Thompson was injured on June 2 2012 in separate incidents. Police said that Thompson was first involved in an altercation with 42-year old Belinda Hannon in which Thompson was stabbed.

According to sources the Evenflo Inc. company is announcing the recall of their Convertible high chair after receiving reports of injuries. The product a high chair for small children likely for feeding purposes allegedly has a tray that can become detached leaving the child in the seat at risk for falling.
The affected models were listed as the Dottie Lime Dottie Rose and the Marianna reports said. Evenflo acknowledged 18 reports of trays becoming detached which included 8 reports of children sustaining bruises and light injuries after falling out of the chair. Consumer may receive free replacement trays from Evenflo.
Local news reports in Wichita Falls TX stated that four men were injured in an accident off of US-287. The accident may have happened when the van that was carrying the men blew a tire. Salvador Rodriguez was listed in critical condition after the accident and was taken to the United Regional Hospital.

Local news sources stated that an accident in Hemet CA near Hemet High School left several students injured and 15-year old Helen Richardson in critical condition. Police said that 18-year old Daniel Carrillo was driving near the school and was reportedly driving 50 miles per hour well over the speed limit when he struck 8 students in a crosswalk.

According to local news reports 55-year old Minerva Aguilar was critically injured in Wichita Falls TX accident that also involved a FedEx truck. Police said that the accident occurred when Aguilar was driving a Dodge Durango along US-287 near Windthorst Road and swerved into oncoming traffic. The accident happened on June 2 2012 at about 11:15 in the morning.

Local authorities in Lufkin TX reported that a stabbing left Jorge Barreras injured at the Wild Willies nightclub. Police said that an argument erupted between Barreras and another patron 41-year old Juilo Marines. After the pair were thrown out of the club Marines stabbed Barreras in the abdominal area with his personal knife.

Local authorities reported that a motorcycle accident in Odessa TX left one person in critical condition on June 1 2012. 40-year old Delma Rodriquez was reportedly riding on a motorcycle and was thrown off for unknown reasons police said. Rodriquez was run over by another car after being thrown from the bike leaving her in critical condition at a local hospital.
