Two tractor trailers owned by Boyd Brothers crash in separate accidents at same spot in Charlotte, NC.
On Friday, July 2, two tractor trailers owned by Boyd
Brothers were involved in separate accidents at the same spot in Charlotte,
NC.The incidents happened at the ramp
where southbound I-85 merges into I-77.Early news reports state that the first accident occurred at
approximately 5:00 a.m.A truck driver
carrying approximately 4,000 pounds of coiled steel lost control of his vehicle
on the ramp and rolled over.The steel
spilled out onto the interstate.The
driver suffered minor injuries in the crash, but was not hospitalized.Approximately two hours later, the accident
had been cleaned up and the road was reopened.Then, at roughly noon on the same day, another Boyd Brothers tractor trailer
carrying coiled steel crashed on the same ramp.The driver of the tractor trailer said that he had trouble navigating
the ramp.Thankfully, the second driver
did not receive any injuries in the crash.Police have not yet released the names of the drivers.The accidents remains under investigation, as
police try to determine how they both occurred.
