Mine collapse in Webster County, KY traps two miners.
On Thursday, April 29, two miners were trapped in a collapsing coal mine in Webster County, KY.Initial reports indicate that the workers were using a continuous miner deep within the mine, where the collapse occurred.Two workers escaped, but two others were trapped.So far, the trapped workers have not responded to any communication from rescue workers.Attempts to extricate the trapped workers began immediately, though the current priority is stabilizing the roof of the mine to prevent further collapse.The incident occurred at the Webster County Coal Dotiki Mine, which has allegedly violated numerous safety protocols in the past.As of right now, rescue attempts are ongoing and rescue workers remain optimistic.
