Drunk driver accidents in wet counties vs. dry counties

In October 2006, the National Center for Statistics and Analysis compiled a report that showed that dry counties (counties in which alcohol cannot be purchased off-premise) had a drunk driving accident rate that was over three times higher than the drunk driving accident rate in wet counties.  It is speculated that this is due to the fact that people in dry counties must drive farther to get alcohol than people in wet counties.  It is also speculated that wet counties might take more measures to keep drunk drivers off the road and that these safety procedures are working.  But either way, drunk driving is still a very real problem.

If you or someone you love has been injured by a drunk driver, you may consider filing a personal injury lawsuit.  You should not do this alone, however.  Drunk driving accident cases are very complicated, often involving multiple defendants which must be handled in very different ways.  In my opinion, without an experienced attorney, your chances of getting an acceptable settlement are slim.
