Fire in Seffner, FL home caused by exploding cell phone.
On Tuesday, March 2, Sanja Roche's cell phone exploded, starting a fire in her Seffner, FL home. Thankfully, no one was injured in the accident. Roche reports that her phone was sitting on a table, not plugged in and not in use, when it exploded. She contacted Samsung, the cell phone manufacturer concerning the explosion. Samsung refused to cooperate on the matter or even send a replacement phone unless Roche signed a waiver, releasing Samsung of any legal liability.
Product manufacturers are responsible for making sure that their products do not put consumers at risk. In cases where a victim is injured or a victim's property is damaged by a faulty product, the victim may wish to file a product liability lawsuit. Unfortunately, this is never easy. As illustrated in this particular incident, many product manufacturers will do whatever they can to avoid accepting responsibility for an accident, even if innocent victims suffer for it. But ultimately, the law is on your side, and with the help of an experienced personal injury attorney, you can be sure that those responsible for your accident are held accountable.
