On Saturday February 27 Illinois State Trooper Starlena Wilson was struck by a passing vehicle while she was conducting a traffic stop. Wilson was taken to a nearby hospital and is in serious condition. Police report that the driver Kimisha Moore was distracted with her cell phone. Moore has been charged with aggravated reckless conduct.
When drivers get behind the wheel of a vehicle they take responsibility for the consequences of their actions. Specifically they are responsible for making sure that they do not endanger other people. When this responsibility is ignored those injured by their actions may wish to file a personal injury lawsuit. I wish I could say that this is an easy task. But in my experience most people will do whatever they can to avoid being held responsible for an accident. But ultimately the law is on your side and with the help of a Dallas car accident lawyer you can be sure that the parties who caused your injuries are brought to justice.
