Deland, FL — 70-year-old Tullie R. Jones was injured in a bulldozer accident that occurred on Wednesday, December 2, around noon near 1619 Lambrook Drive.
According to police, Jones was riding over uneven ground when he was apparently ejected from the vehicle. It wasn’t clear what injuries he sustained, but apparently, he was partially run over by the machine after he fell to the ground.
Jones was rushed to Central Florida Regional Hospital with broken bones and other injuries. He is expected to recover. Police and OSHA are investigating this accident.

In work accidents like these, friends and family are always left with a lot of questions about whether their loved one was safe at the workplace. For example, this worker should have been provided with a safety belt, which is required for safely operating a bulldozer. If he did use a safety belt, then why was he ejected? This could be an indication of a faulty safety belt.
Construction sites should be made as safe as possible for the workers, but when they aren’t, accidents like these occur. This is why investigating the accident is so important; we need to make sure these companies take responsibility for their negligence and fix any safety issues so that no one will get hurt in the future.
