Jasper, TX — A two-car accident this past Wednesday morning near Jasper sent a total of four people to the hospital. Police said that Ella Simms, 78, Betty Gable, 65, Brandon Simms, 23, and a 3-year-old child were identified as the occupants in the two cars and all were taken to local hospitals for various injuries.
Apparently, Ella Simms failed to obey a stop sign last Wednesday morning (November 25, 2015) and crashed into Betty Gable’s vehicle.
This happened at about 8:00 in the morning, at the intersection of Highway 63 and FM 2799, which is just west of Jasper.
According to the news reports, Simms was driving a Chrysler along Highway 63 when she tried to turn onto eastbound FM 2799. However, as she made the turn, she apparently ran a stop sign and drove into the path of Betty Gable’s oncoming SUV.
The two vehicles collided and everyone involved was taken to a hospital for various injuries. Brandon Simms, the 3-year-old child, and Ella Simms were in the Chrysler while Gable appeared to be the only one in her Ford SUV.
It’s not clear if charges will be filed.
