Woodville, Texas — A pilot from Louisiana was injured out near Woodville a couple of weeks ago after his small crop-duster plane crash-landed in between Woodville and Livingston. The pilot was identified as 48-year old Alfred Christian Bell, Tyler County authorities said.
According to their reports, Bell was flying his small plane to spray some crops with herbicide on Thursday morning, September 24, 2015.
Bell said that he was about 12 miles west of Woodville, just off U.S. 190, and was only airborne for a few minutes before his small plane began having engine troubles.
The plane crash-landed in a small field near County Line Road and Bell was able to survive the crash with only injuries. He was rushed to a hospital all the way in Houston and is believed to be in good condition now. It’s not clear what kind of engine problems his plane was having that morning.
