Harrison County, MO – David G. Lemke was injured in a single-vehicle accident just south of Bethany on Tuesday, October 6th, 2015. The accident happened around 3:45 pm.
According to the police report, 59-year-old Lemke was driving a 2014 Kenworth tractor-trailer southbound along Interstate 35 when the accident happened. The vehicle traveled off the east side of the road and into the median. The truck then struck a road sign and an emergency crossover before becoming airborne. The trailer detached from the tractor. The tractor came to rest in the median while the tractor stopped in the northbound lane of traffic.
Lemke was taken to Harrison County Community Hospital with serious injuries.
There were no other occupants in the truck at the time of the accident.
Authorities are looking into this accident. There’s been no mention of driver fatigue or distracted driving in relation to this incident.
