Salt Lake City, UT — On Thursday morning of this week, October 1, 2015, a young woman on her bicycle was badly injured after being hit and dragged by a semi-truck. This happened along 400 West in Salt Lake City, near West High School, at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
The woman on the bike who was injured hasn’t been named, but police said she is 25 years old.
The accident happened as the semi-truck was headed east along 300 North that morning and turned left onto 400 West, hitting the woman on the bicycle in the process.
The trucker, possibly not realizing he had hit anyone, continued to drive on and accidentally dragged the woman and her bike a short distance before she fell to the ground. Paramedics were immediately called and the woman has been hospitalized with critical injuries since then. The cause of the accident isn’t clear yet, but we do know that the trucker hasn’t been located yet. If found, he may face charges.
The description given by the news was a truck with a red cab and a long, flatbed trailer attached to it.
