Chicago, IL – A man in his 70s is in critical condition after being struck by a passing car in Chicago on Friday, September 18th, 2015. The incident happened around 3:30 am.
The unidentified man was walking along the 6900 block of West Belmont Avenue when he allegedly tried to cross the street in the middle of the block. He was struck by a vehicle traveling west on Belmont.
He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. He is in critical condition.
The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating the crash. There’s been no mention of excessive speed or alcohol in connection with this accident.
