Hartford, NY – A bit before 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Anne Marie Rajczewski, 47-years-old, and Jeffrey A. Kulas, 57, were injured an 18-wheeler accident in Hartford, NY.
From what we can tell, the accident occurred on NY-196, when Ms. Rajczewski, driving a 2005 Mazda, crossed the center line and struck an on-coming 18-wheeler head-on. Ms. Rajczewski, seriously injured, became trapped in her car as a result of the collision. Local rescue officials had to employ the Jaws of Life to extricate Ms. Rajczewski. Once freed, Ms. Rajczewski was medevacced to Albany Medical Center. There is no update on her condition at this time.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kulas was taken to Glenn Falls Hospital with a non-life threatening back injury.
At this point, no one knows why Ms. Rajczewski’s vehicle ended up crossing the center line and an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
