Jacksonville, FL – A bit after 5, Tuesday morning, an accident on I-295 in Jacksonville, FL, injured Charles Chitty, III, and one other driver.
According to reports, the accident occurred on the Dames Point Bridge when an Acura was going north on the southbound side of I-295 and crashed head-on into a Dodge Ram pick-up truck driven by Mr. Chitty, 40. The driver of the Acura was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with reportedly life-threatening injuries. Mr. Chitty was also taken to the hospital in serious condition that was quickly upgraded to stable, before his release Tuesday afternoon.
There is no information regarding the identity of the driver of the Acura or his current condition. There is also no word whether speed or alcohol may have played a role in the accident. According to authorities, the investigation is ongoing.
