Freetown, MA – John J. Hudgins suffered serious injuries after an excavator rolled over on its side in Freetown on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015. The accident happened just after 10:00 am.
It’s believed that 52-year-old Hudgins was backing the excavator off a trailer when it flipped on its side. As a result, his leg was pinned under the weight of the heavy equipment vehicle. A forklift from a nearby business was used to gently lift the excavator off the worker’s leg and firefighters slid the man out the cab.
This incident happened at North Main Street and Gramp Dean Road, near exit 10 at Route 24. Hudgins is employed by the N.E.L. Corporation in Middleton.
he U.S. Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration was notified of the accident, and it remains under investigation.
