Honda Motors issues recall for the Fit for fire hazard associated with power window switch
Honda has voluntarily recalled all 646,000 Honda Fit compact hatchbacks as of Friday, January 29th, 2010. Honda has said that the driver's side power window switch can melt or catch fire after being exposed to an extreme amount of liquid. Cars affected by this recall need to have the switch fitted with a waterproof skirt of keep the switch from becoming a hazard. So far, there have been seven reported cases of the switch melting in the US, two resulting in a fire. No injuries have been reported thus far.
