Greenwich, CT — Police in Greenwich said that on Monday morning of this week, August 31, 2015, a young person riding their bicycle was taken to a hospital after accidentally being hit by a box truck. This was along Putnam Avenue, near Greenwich High School.
Not many details were given, but we know that the juvenile was rushed to a nearby hospital and sent to the emergency room.
However, the injuries were not life-threatening, though the doctors described them as “severe.”
The box truck involved here had apparently been driving east on Putnam Avenue while the juvenile on the bike was also headed east. At some point near the high school, the bicyclist tried to cross the street and was hit by the box truck. The child was rushed to the hospital and the truck driver wasn’t harmed.
More details may be released later, but that’s all the police reported.
