Detroit, Michigan – A mother and infant were injured when their car collided with a tractor-trailer in Detroit on Tuesday, September 1st, 2015. The incident happened around 5:30 pm.
A car and an 18-wheeler were traveling along Interstate 75 at Clark when the accident happened. The specifics aren’t clear, but somehow the the car became stuck under the trailer of the tractor-trailer.
The mother and young child became trapping inside the vehicle. Rescuers were able to cut the woman free of the vehicle.
The condition of the woman and infant are not available.
The accident is still under investigation. At this time, it isn’t clear if distracted driving, excessive speed, or mechanical malfunction are contributing factors to the accident.
