Chestnut Ridge, NY — A garbage truck accidentally flipped over in Chestnut Ridge this past Monday (August 24, 2015) after an accident along Pascack Road, injuring four workers aboard. Two other workers were identified as Theodore Ochs, 51 years old, and Orlando Rodriguez, 29 years old.
The news said that Ochs suffered serious injuries to his torso and arm while Rodriguez was hospitalized for undisclosed, yet still serious injuries.
The accident happened on Monday, at the intersection of Pascack Road & Williams Road. Ochs, Rodriguez, and two other workers were aboard a garbage truck that was headed along Williams. As the driver decided to turn onto Pascack Road, the truck suddenly lost its balance and flipped over, badly injuring Ochs, Rodriguez, and the other two workers.
The driver of the garbage truck was of sound mind, the police later said. They aren’t quite sure what happened here, but said that perhaps the weight of the truck and its speed were factors.
