Costa Mesa, CA – Two people were injured when a box truck and dump truck collided in Costa Mesa on Friday, August 14th, 2015.
A box truck was traveling southbound along Freeway 55 when it stopped suddenly as a result of traffic. A dump truck applied brakes and began to fishtail, ultimately hitting the box truck. The box truck then overturned on a Honda Accord injuring those inside.
Two occupants of the Accords were reported to have minor injuries. One was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Neither driver of the commercial vehicles involved were injured.
At this time it’s not clear if the brakes malfunction on the dump truck or if the circumstances surrounding the accident wouldn’t have been easily avoidable.
