Chestnut Ridge, NY – Theodore Ochs was injured after a garbage truck tipped over mangling his arm and injured three other in Chestnut ridge on Monday, August 24th, 2015. This happened around noon.
Three workers were holding onto metal grips outside the garbage truck when it fell onto its left side while the driver turned right onto South Pascack Road from Williams Road. Ochs and another man rode the left side of the truck while the third worker held onto the right side.
51-year-old Ochs was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment of his injuries.
29-year-old Orlando Rodriguez was taken to Nyack Hospital. Alvin Blow and Jorge Lopez received minor injuries, and were not taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities are looking into the situation to see if the brakes failed. The driver tested sober in his alcohol screening.
