Verona, NY — A local man named Dale Durant, 75 years old, was badly injured and rushed to a hospital after his ATV was in an accident with a U.S. Postal Service mail delivery truck. The accident happened on Wednesday afternoon, August 26, 2015 along Mitchell Road.
According to the news reports, Durant had been riding an ATV in the area that afternoon and was apparently trying to cross over Mitchell Road when he was hit by a passing USPS mail truck.
The two collided and the mail truck overturned in the process, landing on Durant. He was eventually freed by his brother, who was able to jack up the mail truck and help him out. Paramedics then rushed Durant to a nearby hospital and he was treated for critical injuries.
It’s not clear if any charges are being filed and that’s all that the news released in the way of describing what happened in the accident.
