Update [September 3, 2015]: The woman injured in this accident was identified as Ladina Hill.
Kaufman, Texas — There was a serious accident reported in the Kaufman area this past Tuesday (August 25, 2015) that left a trucker with injuries. Right now, the Texas DPS and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office are saying that it looks like an 18-wheeler truck rolled over on SH 243 near Kaufman Lake.
That’s just east of Kaufman. This happened at about 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the police reports, the 18-wheeler’s driver was headed west (toward Kaufman) along SH 243 that afternoon when something went wrong and the truck suddenly rolled down the side of an embankment.
The truck then flipped over and landed upright, crashing into some trees in a wooded area. The driver, who hasn’t been named, was immediately rushed via helicopter to a Dallas hospital. His condition isn’t clear at this point, but it doesn’t look as though the injuries were life-threatening.
The cause of this accident isn’t clear yet.
