Princeton, NJ – Donald Capps, professor emeritus at Princeton Theological Seminary was hospitalized with serious injuries after a car crash on Wednesday, August 26th, 2015. The incident took place just before 9:00 am.
Capps was driving northbound on Library Place when the accident happened. After crossing the intersection of Library Place and Stockton Street, his Volkswagen Beetle veered right for unknown reasons and struck the right rear bumper of a green Volvo. After striking the other vehicle he collided with a tree.
76-year-old Capps was extricated from the car and taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
73-year-old Karen Capps was a passenger at the time of the accident. She was was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Volvo was uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation. At this time, it’s not know if a medical emergency or distracted driving played any part in the collision.
