Couple Joseph and Peggy Manthiey hospitalized following gas explosion at Irving Texas home

 

An elderly couple is recovering in the hospital following a natural gas explosion at their Irving, Texas home on Sunday morning, January 31st, 2010.  Joseph and Peggy Manthiey were in bed at the time of the explosion.  Neighbors said Mr. Manthiey was burned the worst.  Atmos Energy has since discovered the culprit, a major leak on a service line across the street from their home.  In the days following the accident, gas leaks were discovered all over the Mesquite neighborhood.
