Bernards Township, NJ — A single-vehicle accident that happened on Tuesday, August 18th around 4:00 p.m. left two 17-year-old girls seriously injured.
According to the Bernards Township Police Department, the vehicle, a Lexus SUV, was traveling west on Lyons Road when it veered off the road, traveled 100 feet, and hit a tree. The driver was trapped and had to be removed from the vehicle, while the passenger was in the back seat and was allegedly not wearing a safety belt.
The driver of the vehicle was flown to Morristown Medical Center, while the passenger traveled by ambulance. Both are in critical condition at the hospital. Police are still investigating to find out why the driver originally lost control of the vehicle.
