Smith County, Texas – Three people are hospitalized following a two-car collision in Smith County, Texas on Wednesday, August 25th, 2015. The incident happened sometime that evening.
From what we can tell, a red GMC Yukon was driving westbound along Interstate 20, near Highway 69, when the accident happened. It was struck from behind by another vehicle. This caused the Yukon to flip and land on top of the other car, pinning the driver inside.
The driver and a passenger in the Yukon were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the other car was taken by Flight for Life to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.
At this time, the specifics leading up to the collision are unclear. There’s been no mention of alcohol, drugs, or distracted driving as possible factors.
