Hillsboro, MO–Two adults and three children were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Missouri State Highway A on Tuesday August 18th around 4:30 p.m.
48-year-old David W. Bunch, who was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram, allegedly lost control of his vehicle while heading west on State Highway A. This caused him to veer into eastbound traffic, where he was struck by a 2015 Chevy Traverse, driven by 27-year-old Sara Buchanan.
Buchanan had three children in her vehicle; 14-year-old McKayla Dixon, 7-year-old Kooper Buchanan, and 5-year-old Christopher Dixon. All injuries sustained were moderate or minor except for Sara Buchanan, who suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, and it is unclear at this time why Bunch originally lost control of his vehicle.
