Eagle Mountain Lake, Texas — There was a boating accident reported last Sunday (August 9, 2015) and a woman was said to be missing. This was at Eagle Mountain Lake, police said, and an extensive search was started on Sunday and continued until Monday.
The woman’s body was later found, according to the news reports, and she was identified as 46-year old Wendy Nguyen.
Nguyen was a passenger on a boat that was being piloted by a 49-year old man who wasn’t named. They were reportedly in a speedboat that was riding along Eagle Mountain Lake when the boat appeared to crash “into a wave.”
During the crash, Nguyen was accidentally thrown from the boat and landed in the water, where she passed away. Witnesses said that the boat was going very fast and after it hit the wave, it went airborne and then “broke in half” as it landed back on the lake.
This is still being investigated.
