Lysol has recalled their steam-cleaning mops because of burn risk (SM10L, SM10LR)
Conair Corp in cooperation with The U.S. Consumer Safety Commission, has voluntary recalled Lysol Steam Cleaning mops (#SM10L and #SM10LR) because of laceration and burn risks associated with the product. 162,000 defective mops have been sold in the US since September 2006. The recall was issued after 14 cases where hot water spewed from the reservoir, hospitalizing two. The housing unit may also rip apart, causing lacerations.
Those who own one of these mops, is advised to discontinue use, and contact Conair to have a replacement steam cleaner shipped to you free of charge. Conair can be contacted via phone at (800) 687-6916.
If you have been injured by a defective steam cleaner, or any faulty product, your next step should be to speak with a personal injury attorney as soon as you are able. Product liability lawsuits help consumers recover compensation for injuries or damages due to the use of a defective or faulty product. Manufacturers have a duty to ensure the safety of their products before selling to consumers. If they fail to protect the consumer from injury, they may be held liable in a personal injury product liability claim. If you have been injured by a defective product, speak with a personal injury attorney and get the compensation you deserve!

As a Texas attorney practicing for 20 years, I have litigated all manner of personal injury cases. I use this blog as a place to write opinion / editorial articles on a variety of topics that catch my interest and as a means of sharing news stories relevant to personal injury accidents. I think the overwhelming majority of people are unaware just how common these types of accidents are and I hope this blog raises awareness to rather serious public safety concerns. However, this blog is simply a means for me to share my opinions and I would recommend that anyone who is considering seeking legal counsel should contact their family attorney.
